TFM-Spetstekhnika Recaps the 2020 Mining Operations at Ozernoye Deposit

17 February 2021
Since September 2020, TFM-Spetstekhnika LLC has been the contractor for the Ozernaya Mining Company, performing capital development works at the Ozernoye complex ore deposit in Buryatia. So far the company has excavated 70.6 million cubic feet of rock, using the latest Komatsu special purpose vehicles (excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks).

TFM-Spetstekhnika is to excavate and transport a total of 621.5 million cubic feet of rock before its contract ends in late 2022.  The project involves more than one hundred staff to be accommodated at a workers’ settlement (currently under construction). The site has already been equipped with mobile communications infrastructure and a 24/7 communication link to control the mining machinery operation.

Alexey Taycher, Chairman of the TransFin-M Board of Directors, says:

We at TFM-Spetstekhnika provide a full range of open-pit operations – an important area of activity, which, in our view, offers an enormous development potential. The company already has a large fleet of modern machinery and experienced staff meeting all the requirements of the mining company. Part of our diversification strategy, the Ozernoye project is TFM-Spetstekhnika’s first project not related to coal mining.

The Ozernoye deposit is one of the largest zinc-lead deposits in the world and the largest in Russia. The deposit development works include the construction of a mining and processing plant to extract and process lead-zinc ore into lead and zinc concentrates. The concentrate production is expected to start in 2023.
